A Medication Request can hold multiple Dosages in the dosageInstructionfhirThis variable is defined by the FHIR standard.. But a dosage has one explicit defined Timing. That means for each timing a completely configured dosage must be created.

Easy User Flow

We want to ensure FHIR compliance, so we aim to support all Timing fields for a dosage. These fields cannot be distinctly grouped into specific combinations or filtered out for certain applications. Therefore, it is essential that the basic form of a dosage includes all fields to allow any valid configuration.

The challenge lies in providing users with a simple and quick way to create dosages and timing, as well as to utilize presets. A complete form with all possible fields is often too complex and difficult to use. However, as mentioned above, all fields are necessary.

To address this issue and ensure maximum flexibility while maintaining an easy user experience, Dosage Presets come into play.
